We are all in Class 1
This term we are learning about Fairy Stories.
We planted our own beanstalks. Do you think there will be a giant's castle at the top of them?
We talked about the different parts of a plant and labelled the roots, stem, leaves and flowers.
We did some measuring and found objects that were the same size as our beanstalk.
We measured ourselves on our beanstalk height chart then put the whole class in a line in order of height, Who is the tallest?

Summer Term 2015
We have been learning how to skip in the Nursery garden.
We had a visit from Monty the python.
We have been enjoying Show & Tell every Thursday.
We were excited to meet baby Samuel Gaye.
We learnt all about bee keeping and then we made honey sandwiches. Delicious!.
We had a go at Maypole dancing. It was great fun!

This term our topic is
Heroes That Help Us
In weeks 1-3 we learnt about people who help us in the our homes.
Here we are practising jobs around the house in our role play area.
We started our phonics lessons by going on a treasure hunt looking for pictures that began with the same initial sound.
In weeks 3 and 4 we learnt about people who help us in our school.
We interviewed Mrs McQuiggin, our head teacher, and Mrs Dowson, our secretary, to find out about all the jobs that they do for us.
Nursery practised some counting.
We celebrated how precious we are to God in our liturgy and passed a precious jewel around telling everyone who is very precious to us.
In weeks 5-6 we learnt about heroes that help us in an emergency.
We built our own fire engine and set up a fire brigade office.
We created some art work that helped us remember all the soldiers in the First World War. We had a liturgy that helped us understand what they did and we said thank you to the soldiers who were so brave.
I weeks 7-8 we learnt about people who help us get food. We learnt where our food comes from and how farmers and fishermen produce and get our food to the shops for us to buy.
Dressing up for harvest day and performing in our school assembly our action story about how the crops grow.
We set up a grocer's shop and made price tags and labels.

In weeks 9-10 we learnt about people who keep us healthy.
We talked about how important it is to keep our teeth healthy and we practised brushing our teeth for a whole 2 minutes.
