Our Vision and Values

Blessed John Duckett School is a Catholic School and God’s love is at the centre of our community.

We experience prayer and worship together, share and recognise pupils’ understanding and deepening of the Christian faith.

By working together, we strive to meet the spiritual, pastoral and academic needs of our children and community. We demonstrate our love by caring for God’s world and the diverse people in it.

We aim for respect, fairness and justice in all we do.

"Strong Catholic values underpin the school’s work and a philosophy
that every child does matter and each should do as well as they can.
Pupils make a significant contribution to the community it serves"

Statement on British Values

At Blessed John Duckett, we are fully committed to living out our Gospel values, where we recognise that all people are valued regardless of beliefs, background or ethnic origin.

Indeed, through the teachings of the Church, through our curriculum and in our daily lives, we believe in and promote a sense of fairness, justice, tolerance, forgiveness, acceptance, and humility; we recognise the dignity of each human being, we are non-judgmental, show generosity of spirit and regard for our self and each other which teaches our pupils to know what it means to be a good citizen in Britain today.

Our Gospel values very much reflect our British values, and those defined by the Government as

  • democracy
  • the rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect
  • tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
